Hey, Lifestyle Fam! How are you?, it’s been a while lol sorry for being MIA but here I am alive! hahaha. The past few months I did my yearly detox from social media as I wanted to focus on the things I wanted to accomplish but this post won’t be about it (Though, I have a blog post about why you should detoxify, here’s the link below if you want to check it out ).

Now, for my comeback post (yaas), I want to take you out virtually to the best-hidden restaurants in San Juan,

La Union- hidden? because you literally have to drive down a small street and it’s hard to find and see it lol. Plus! I know we all love to eat hahaha and so I am going to feature the amazing La Union that sadly, has become strict with tourists again due to the rise of Covid cases so how about I take you there through this post! Get ready to be full, as delicious foods are coming up!

1. Awesome Hotel Restaurant

If you are craving southeast Asian cuisine such as Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Malaysia then I recommend this place. They serve steaks, salads, and pasta too. Unfortunately, I was not able to take a picture of their menu but here is the link to their Facebook page if you want to know more about the place.

Note: When you arrive, it may look like an ordinary hotel from the front but when you get to the restaurant, a captivating view awaits you!

We ordered beef Salpicao, Gambas, Pad Thai, and Chicken Satay. I have to say the best dish is the Chicken Satay and their best seller Pad Thai. I don’t like Pad Thai (I know guys don't hate me lol) but I loved their version, it was so flavorful. I highly encourage you to order one and not miss it!

So if you want some Southeast Asian food trip since you can’t travel abroad this place is recommended! Everything’s Delicious!

After eating, you can enjoy their huge backyard with gazebos and take Instagram-worthy photos by the beachfront. The view and food is indeed Awesome! *wink*

Of course, a sunset reflecting by the beach is always a good idea!

Don't mind me just thinking about what I'll eat next hahaha

2. Kahel

Another resort by the beach that looked like a minimalist beach house. They serve pizzas, Filipino dishes, pasta, tacos, burgers, and many more!. Oh and alcohol too, of course ahem ahem "please drink responsibly".

Here is their menu:

We ordered the Kahel Pizza and it was yummy, I'm not much of a pizza lover but I can say that I would eat a lot of this thin crust pizza.

Their Ilokano Burger is made of Vigan Longganisa patty with Kaldereta sauce (wow!). Apparently, it taste superb! according to my brother hahaha. I personally ordered the shrimp Aglio olio that was good for two (which is a lot already) but don't be surprised, I ate it all by myself (forever fave pasta) hahaha!

Surf and Turf + Mango Shake. Hmm.. I wonder who ordered the drink (people who knows me well, will get the question) hahah

Had to tuck in for this picture and not breathe after eating so much hahaha

You can dine alfresco by the beach which is an awesome spot to hang out with friends, family, or even your date (can't relate? ikr! Strong independent people gather up hahaha).

3. Seawadeeka

After the modern minimalist Kahel, we shall visit this place that looks like a “kubo”. Although it's not directly from a beach view, it is close to it- you just cross the road and walk further because it is located along the highway.

This place is great for chilling especially in hot weather because despite no air-conditioning, the air inside is refreshing and cool- thanks to the leaves on the roof covering the heat and ceiling fans distributing the air inside.

They serve Thai food hence the name is “seawadeeka" based on a Thailand greeting but spelled in “Sawasdee ka” meaning Hello!. They just changed it to “sea”. I know very witty lol their food was appetizing and the prices were affordable.

Here is the menu:

Where am I even smiling at?? Hahaha

I'm so happy that they use edible straws to avoid throwing multiple plastic straws that add up to waste. Thank you for caring for our Mother Earth <3

FOOD IS HERE! Apologies for the quality of the picture, it was quite dark inside and the light outside was not helping.

We ordered Chicken Satay, Nasi Goreng, Pad Thai, and Beef Rendang. Warning for people who do not like spicy foods, their pad thai is very spicy as well as their beef rendang.

The chicken satay was good and I really liked their peanut sauce so if you order extra it's 15 pesos. The Thai Milktea was also delicious.

That's it for now! I will either be updating this post or make another one if I discover more great places to dine and chill. I'll do my very best to be active in our blog from now on so I hope you do subscribe by just providing your email below and you will be notified immediately if a new post is up.

I do wish the pandemic is over and we will get to travel again soon but in the meantime please don't forget about your health and safety first and strictly follow safety protocols especially when going out and as always...

Take Care,

Mz. Nina 💖
