Hey there! I know all of us have heard enough bad news during 2020 and it felt like just yesterday that we were in strict quarantine; kept in a box and curious of the outside world and just as the wind passed it is now December *sighs*. This year, it felt very stagnant, layback, depressing, and to be frank, overall it felt hopeless. As the end of the year comes, I don’t know how we will be able to celebrate Christmas or even celebrate it at all. However, seeing the Christmas lights lit up, gave me this feeling of aspiration and faith. I guess Christmas is really a holiday to be cheerful and thankful. From people still buying gifts and food, having Christmas parties on zoom, and people still accomplishing something, I learned the importance of perspective.
It is important to establish and remind ourselves that we have the power to control the way we see things and how we react to that especially towards the external factors that we have no control. The pandemic is something we cannot stop but how we live with it every day and how it affects us is something we have control of (take that Rona! short for Corona hahaha, I am still drinking with friends.. Uhm I meant drinking mango shakes on zoom HAHAHA). Knowing you have that kind of power, you will be surprised how amazing the impact is on how you live every day.
Imagine yourself in a room just dreaming but you keep telling yourself I can’t do it so you end up just imagining; being lazily hopeless and stuck OR how about you imagine yourself dreaming of your goals and thinking I can do this, I am able to achieve this with this and that, and voila! You stand up and find a way. That’s how powerful shifting a perspective is and how it changes the mindset and you’re body follows that energy.
We either keep ourselves in a box and think negatively the rest of the year or find ways to be happy and keep going. Even just by binge-watching and finishing a series is a happy accomplishment already come on its hard especially when it has 17 seasons like Grey’s Anatomy (Fans anyone? Hahaha)
Enjoy and take pride in the little things
Another thing I realized is that don’t take things for granted, This Christmas you get to spend more quality time with your family at home the rest of the holiday especially when you did not have the time to experience it before due to your job or because you live far away from them but see? you are home with them happily safe so still, be grateful.
Always look at things with a silver lining as it gives you that resilience and power to still keep moving forward but don’t be too hard on yourself, we have ups and downs. We can’t always be okay but keep in mind that the important thing is we still rise up despite being down. Just have fun and enjoy life; we will never have 2020 again so let’s make it count. We only have days to make this year happy despite the number of negative news so how about we hear something positive for a change especially about ourselves right?. I hope you shift your perspective to the positive side like I am doing now because it helps me become more motivated and resilient to stay happy with what I am and how I am living despite setbacks.
We started with terrible news this year so how about we end it with a beautiful one. So can I hear good news from you? Stay Safe!
Advance Merry Christmas!🎄✨
